Learn more about Music at Good Shepherd

Our congregation often invites other musical groups and artists to share their gifts. Below are some examples of recent and past events.

Good Shepherd Concert Series

Director of Worship and Music, Jared Stellmacher, and former director, Ben Johnston-Urey team up for an all “duet” concert entitled: “ A Christmas Tapestry;” classical and contemporary Advent/Christmas favorites. They will be joined by the Good Shepherd Choir and the Madison Inspirational Youth Choir. Be sure to invite your friends and don’t miss out on this wonderful way to highlight the season through music

Singer-Songwriter, Speaker, Clinician, and Composer: Tony Memmel Comes to Good Shepherd

Tuesday, December 4  at 6:30pm (Madison Campus)

Tony Memmel, a native of Waukesha, WI, is a nationally renowned singer-songwriter with a unique charisma and creativity. He was born missing his left forearm and taught himself to play the guitar, piano, and harmonica. He was invited to speak at the ELCA National Youth Gathering in New Orleans and has earned write-ups and features in the Associated Press, CNN, Boston Globe, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Chicago Tribune, and WSMC-Nashville. His extensive independent touring experience has taken him to 45 states and 10 countries worldwide. We are lucky to have Tony with us at Good Shepherd as he partners this season with the Madison Youth Choirs as Artist in Residence. Join us for an incredible evening sponsored by our Worship and Music and Confirmation Ministries. On Tuesday, December 4 at 6:30 p.m., Tony will share his original music and stories about his mission work around the world: overcoming adversity, vocational craftsmanship, artistic integrity, entrepreneurial spirit and faith testimony. No admission cost, and open to the public.
