New Worship Update from Lead Pastor Chris Enstad, Staff and the Board
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” – Psalm 46:1
We will read Psalm 46 in church this Sunday. It reminds us that in times of trouble, God is with us, and is our rock in troubled times. Please keep that in mind as we make some changes to our worship plans this weekend due to the changing nature of the COVID-19 outbreak.
We will not hold services at either campus this weekend, but we willbe holding worship Sunday online.
We will stream a 30-minute service from Verona at 10:30 a.m. Sunday on YouTube, with a link to the service on Facebook. You can also connect to our service through our website: https://gslcwi.com/2020/03/12/this-sunday-march-15-2020/. You can also use your smartphone and connect to the service through the Good Shepherd App. All other programs at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will be postponed through Sunday.
The COVID-19 Task Force for Good Shepherd will still meet Sunday.
This group of medical professionals, law enforcement and representatives of several church committees will meet Sunday at noon (potentially online) to discuss next steps the church should take to make sure everyone stays safe through the COVID-19 Pandemic.
We will maintain normal office hours at church.
People that need pastoral care or other services can reach staff from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and 8:30-noon Friday..
Please continue to support Good Shepherd financially.
A substantial portion of our revenue comes from gifts made during our offertory. Even though we can’t meet in person, please continue to support Good Shepherd financially. While we may not be worshiping together right now, our work continues. You are welcome to send your offerings through Breeze, through our app, or give through our website: https://goodshep.breezechms.com/give/online
I also want to share with you a comforting message I received from a church musician today. I thought these words provided a sense of hope, peace, and comfort today and in the weeks to come.
“Music is not cancelled. It will just sound a little different for a while. Church is not cancelled. Worship will just look a little different for a while. Relationships will not be cancelled. They will just feel a little different for a while. Faith will not be cancelled. It will just grow in different ways for a while. Love will not be cancelled. In fact, we will need more of it for a while. Grace and peace be with you all as we find our way in this new wilderness.” –Tom Trenney
