SUMMARY:God's Work\, Our Hands Sunday
DESCRIPTION:Help Make Back-to-School Kits for Lutheran World Relief\nEducation is one of the strongest tools a community has for breaking the cycle of poverty. Ensuring that girls attend school\, especially in places where their access is deprioritized\, has even stronger results. Lutheran World Relief School Kits contain essential supplies to help children — and in some cases\, adults — continue learning in the face of serious obstacles. That learning leads to a better life for them\, their families and their communities.\nOn September 7\, which is God’s Hands Our Work Sunday\, we will assemble school supply kits at both campuses after worship. At Madison\, we’ll meet in Peterson Hall. In Verona\, we’ll meet in the fellowship hall on the lower level. Our goal is to assemble 100 kits.\n\nWe will begin collecting school supply donations Sunday\, August 24th-Sunday\, September 7th. You can help by purchasing school supplies\, and dropping them off at the collection bins at both campuses.\n\nDonation Needs\nWe are looking to assemble 100 kits. Here’s a look at what is included in one kit:\n\nFOUR 70-sheet notebooks of wide- or college-ruled paper\, approximately 8” x 10 ½”; no loose leaf paper\nONE 30-centimeter ruler\, or a ruler with centimeters on one side and inches on the other\nONE pencil sharpener\nONE pair of blunt scissors (safety scissors with embedded steel blades work well)\nFIVE unsharpened #2 pencils with erasers; secure together with a rubber band\nFIVE black or blue ballpoint pens (no gel ink); secure together with a rubber band\nONE box of 16 or 24 crayons\nONE 2 ½” eraser\n\n\nIf you’re able to buy all or a portion of the contents of one bag\, we’d be so grateful.\nQuestions?
