DESCRIPTION:A graveside committal for Kay Hocker will take place on Saturday\, June 24\, 2023 at Forest Hill Cemetery (1 Speedway Rd) at 11am. Pastor Sheryl Erickson will be presiding. \nObituary\nKay Frances Hocker\, age 84 of Madison\, Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday\, March 15\, 2023\, at Oakwood Village Memory Care surrounded by her family. Kay was born on May 4\, 1938 in Colchester\, IL to Joseph and Susie (Wayland) Powell. She graduated from Colchester High School and worked at the local IGA store where she met Arland R. Hocker\, Jr. They were married on August 26\, 1956. Kay earned her real estate license. She enjoyed selling houses\, playing bridge and home decor. She was a loving mother to her son\, Brad\, her two grandchildren\, Max and Kelsey\, and two great grand puppies\, Kaia and Blair. She is survived by one son\, Bradley (Patricia) Hocker\, of Murrells Inlet\, SC\, two grandchildren; Max Hocker\, of Stevens Point\, WI and Kelsey Hocker\, of Madison\, WI. Also surviving are four brothers; David Powell of Colorado Springs\, CO\, Gary (Tish) Powell of Colchester\, IL\, Danny Powell of Colchester\, IL\, Lyle (Teresa) Powell of Good Hope\, IL\, one sister\, Louella (Phil) Reno of Bushnell\, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers; Charles Powell and Bruce Powell; and two sisters; Barbara Schoonover and Beverly Roberts.

DESCRIPTION:Dorothy Carol Loehrer\, age 94\, of Madison\, WI\, passed away on Wednesday\, June 28\, 2023\, in her Madison home. She was born on March 16\, 1929\, in Green Bay\, WI\, the daughter of Fred and Minnie Holz. She married John (Jack) Loehrer on July 2\, 1955. \nDottie had a long and varied nursing career in patient care and as an instructor. She was a very active volunteer in church\, school tutoring\, and her community. Dottie’s passion was ballroom dancing. \nDottie is survived by daughters: Gail (Brian) and Linda Loehrer; many grandchildren\, great-grandchildren; and special friend\, Charles Murray. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; husband\, Jack; son\, Ken; and daughter\, Carol. \nFuneral visitation will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME\, 3610 Speedway Road in Madison on Thursday\, July 6\, 2023\, from 5:30 – 8:00 PM. \nAdditional visitation and funeral will be held on Friday\, July 7\, 2023 at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH\, 5701 Raymond Road in Madison. Visitation is at 10:00 AM\, Service at 11:00 AM followed by a luncheon.

SUMMARY:Inky Nordness Memorial Service
DESCRIPTION:Reverend Oradell “Inky” Nordness\, age 92\, of Madison\, passed away on Tuesday\, June 27\, 2023.  He was born on Jan. 29\, 1931\, to Obert and Esther (nee Hellingson) Nordness. \nInky graduated from Madison East High School\, then St. Olaf College and went on to Luther Seminary\, graduated and served five parishes as minister.  He married Joan Dahl in 1956 and they raised four sons.  Inky loved God\, his family and the Green Bay Packers.  He signed up to be on the season ticket wait list almost the minute he moved to serve in Neenah. He waited 29 years to become a season ticket holder. \nInky was extremely proud of his Norwegian heritage.  He put countless hours in studying the family genealogy and visiting Norway to confirm his research.  His sons endured being served lutefisk each Christmas season while growing up. \nInky faithfully served as minister in five parishes: Lansing and Royal\, Iowa\, Evansville\, Ind.\, and Neenah\, Wis and as visitation pastor before retiring in Rochester\, Minn. \nInky is survived by his four sons\, Stephen (Rita)\, Daniel\, Jon and Philip (Amy); six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister\, Genny Castagna; and former daughters-in-law\, Carla Nordness and Cindy Hendren.  He was preceded in death by his wife\, Joan; sister\, Celoris Hinz; and brothers\, Eugene\, Joe\, Laverne\, Gerald and Russell. \nA memorial service will be held at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH\, 7291 County Road PD\, Verona\, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday\, July 25\, 2023.  Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
