DESCRIPTION:It’s time again to bring your papers that you need shredded to the Thrivent office—load up your vehicle and bring them your piles\, stacks and boxes of paper! Come any time between 8-11 a.m. on Saturday morning\, July 16\, to the Thrivent parking lot at 708 Heartland Trail in Madison.  They will accept items to be shredded until the truck is full. In addition to your items needing to be shredded\, please consider bringing items that will benefit families who visit the Good Shepherd  Food Pantry. For every item donated Thrivent will donate $3 per item – up to $3000! The Holy COW will also be on-site serving free coffee and pastries throughout the event.

DESCRIPTION:Addressing the Crisis of Human Trafficking\nPlease mark your calendar to attend the spring gathering of the Women of the ELCA on Saturday\, May 14\, at our Madison Campus.  Registration with light refreshments will begin at 8:30 a.m.  The morning program will begin at 9:00 a.m. We will have a speaker from Lutheran Office for Public Policy in Wisconsin present a program titled: “Addressing the Crisis of Human Trafficking.”  Human trafficking is big business for organized crime and for local traffickers.   The average age for recruitment into the commercial sex industry is about 13.  People experiencing hunger and homelessness and/or who have a history of trauma are particularly vulnerable.   Learn about ways people are coerced\, resources to discuss anti-sex trafficking with youth and adults\, and advocacy for public policies. We will end the morning with a salad luncheon at noon.   Please bring a salad to pass.   A free will offering will be collected with one-half to Women of the ELCA\, and one-half to Lutheran Office for Public Policy in Wisconsin. \nPlease email Polly Carter to RSVP at:  pfcart48@gmail.com
