DESCRIPTION:Who’s Ready for a Cook-Off? \nThe Chili Cook-off and Pie Auction is back! Friday March 15 from 6 – 8 p.m. at our Verona Campus. It is a family friendly night of intergenerational fun! A great place to meet or invite a friend. \nThis beloved event raises money for our HS youth summer travels. This summer they will be attending the ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans from July 15 – 21. . This is an opportunity for our youth to worship\, serve\, play\, and stretch their Spirits alongside 20\,000 other young Lutherans from around the world.  Good Shepherd has a long history of supporting our youth through experiences of travel and pilgrimage and we look forward to taking a big crew down to the Bayou this summer. \nCome and Dine.\nYour ticket gets you in the door to enjoy pie and custard\, homemade cornbread\, coffee and lemonade\, and all the chili fixins. Individual cups of chili are pay-what -you-like throughout the night\, enjoy as much as you like! We will mix and mingle\, eat and fellowship from 6:00 – 7:00 before we announce the winners and begin the pie auction! Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the music starts at 7:00 p.m. \nThe Brilliance music is poetic and liturgical with beautiful orchestral sounds that can be enjoyed by all. \n \n  \nThe Brilliance is made up of John Arndt and David Gungor (brother to Michael Gungor who performed on our lawn last summer). They both grew up in Marshfield. David is also a pastor at Good Shepherd New York\, while John writes a lot of orchestral scores. Their music is orchestral\, hymnodic\, liturgical\, poetic and prayerful. Advent worship at the 6:00 service uses many of their beautiful songs.

Where is it found?  Servant Leadership is not leadership reserved for the board room\, but a way in which we can all lead in the many spheres of our life. This conversation will be valuable for people of all ages\, vocations\, and occupations. Our guest speaker is Tom Thibodeau\, a distinguished professor at Viterbo University who created the first Master of Arts in Servant Leadership. He is a beloved professor\, storyteller\, and community member who has helped make Servant Leadership a community initiative in the LaCrosse area.  So join us from Peterson Hall from 9 a.m. -12 p.m. \nThere is no registration and non-GS members are more than welcome. Food will be available throughout the morning! Let’s start a conversation! \nLearn more about Tom Thibodeau \nTom Thibodeau is a husband\, father\, grandfather\, teacher\, and an active community member from Wisconsin Rapids who has done nothing since coming to Viterbo in 1984 but inspire students and change the world. Through the years his infectious enthusiasm\, compassion\, and commitment to leadership and service have also inspired countless colleagues and community members. He is the founder of the Master of Arts in Servant Leadership\, the first master’s degree of its kind in the nation\, and also a founding member of hospitality and fellowship resource Place of Grace\, in La Crosse. Thibodeau is a popular professor\, talented public speaker\, and an extremely active community member who lives the Viterbo values. He regularly leads The Ethical Life seminars\, often team teaching with Rick Kyte\, and also offers a Serving the Common Good seminar focused on homelessness.

DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a cup of coffee\, a donut\, and a good conversation on the second Thursday of the month (June 8th\, July 13th\, and August 10th)  at 10:30 in the Good Shepherd room at the Madison Campus. This gathering is open to all as a time visit with folks you know\, and folks you don’t know yet. Think of it as an extension of the lobby on Sunday morning. Other snacks and friends are welcome.

DESCRIPTION:All the women of the congregation are welcome to gather on Sunday\, October 23rd\, at the Vlack Barn (5759 Whalen Road\, Fitchburg) from 3:00-5:00 p.m. for an afternoon for spiritual storytelling and fellowship. Hospitality is provided\, so simply come and enjoy connecting with others through casual conversation\, beautifully shared stories\, and prayer.
