Prayer

How do you pray in this new and changing landscape?

Some folks may feel overwhelmed with people and things to pray for. Some may feel dry and silent. Some may be praying without ceasing. Some folks may already have a developed prayer life and some may find themselves praying for first time in a long time.

Other resources to nourish your spirit and connect you with others

  • Visit the church website where you’ll find a rich library of past podcasts, video stories, and devotionals. You can also watch previous worship services. Maybe it’s time for Christmas in March!
  • Visit our family/youth page for resources of all kinds to keep your kids spiritually fed.
  • Visit our Facebook page daily for inspiring, fun, and engaging posts of all kinds. Children’s ministry, AMPED, and The Deep all have their own pages with some unique posts as well.
  • Join the discussion group on FB to talk with others about a variety of different topics. A great space for asking questions, offering support, and sharing ideas.
  • Check the website for new blog posts from staff and pastors.

We hope these gatherings and touch points will help you remain connected to the GS community during this time. More than that, we hope they will help you find your voice with God during this time. That they will reveal God’s vastness, teach Jesus compassion, and draw us into the presence of the Spirit.

We also hope you will also find connection away from the screen! Here’s some ideas.

  • Gather with God’s creation for a walk and take Psalm 103, 19, 148 with you. Let the birds and spring peepers provide you community.
  • Gather into yourself for moments of quiet with just you and God. You do not need words. Prayer of listening can also be deeply powerful and helpful. A candle, a quiet space, and a desire to breath with the Spirit and hear God’s truth. Romans 8:26-27 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
