Chili Cook Off Returns to Support High School Ministry

Three years ago we held this event just days before we would have to pause our gatherings for quite some time. It was beautiful to feel the room once again hum with conversation and laughter. We raised several thousand dollars to help our youth travel this summer – experiencing how the Holy Spirit moves and speaks in other communities.

This particular group of youth have not known this event in this way, and they were truly amazed to see how many people showed up, not just to enjoy a good meal, but to support their experiences.

Good Shepherd has a long tradition of creating and supporting faith awakening experiences for our youth – and that continued throughout the pandemic. But to see that net of community in the flesh was a powerful reminder of the promises we make during each baptism service, to love support and encourage our youth in this journey of faith.
