Dane County’s latest health order requiring masks to be worn inside expires June 2. Your COVID-19 Task Force and Good Shepherd Board have been prayerfully discerning what our policies should be going forward. We are a multigenerational congregation that continues to provide worship opportunities for all members, including those who haven’t had the opportunity to be vaccinated. Here, all should feel safe and included. Worship Plan for June Upcoming Worship Opportunities at Good Shepherd.
On May 25, the Board decided unanimously to adopt the Dane County guidelines and transition to a mask optional environment in all indoor and outdoor activities, effective June 20.
The Board believes this will give individuals more time to get vaccinated, if they choose to do so. We also hope this allows us all to adjust and become more comfortable in mask optional environments. We will continue to follow CDC recommendations, which states unvaccinated people should continue to wear a mask. We understand there are various reasons individuals and families may want to continue to wear a mask, and they are welcome to do so. As a community, we are called to meet people where they are at. We ask all our members continue welcoming others as we have been welcomed.
