High School Ministry

High School Ministry at Good Shepherd

High School Ministry is deeply relational. Together we explore big questions about what it means to be a person of faith in an ever-changing world. We understand that holiness is experienced both in still quiet moments and large community experiences. Through conversations, stories, activities, and adventures, we ponder faith in our daily lives and in a global context. God is big, Jesus is Truth, the Spirit is moving. Come as you are, you are welcome here.

Join us every 1st and 3rd Sunday at 7:00pm at our Verona Campus for Youth Group. Different activities and conversations each week. All are welcome at this community practice project. This gathering pairs well with our 6:00pm worship service. A Holy pause followed with some fun fellowship is a great way to start your week.

You Make it Possible

Fundraising is an essential part of Youth Ministry. It is what helps make our seasonal trips and activities possible. Volunteering at one or many of these options is a great way to continue to connect, share in new experiences, and learn more about yourself and others!

Summer Trip

What you can expect to do at Sky Ridge Lutheran Camp:

We are not “attending camp” so to speak. Summer camp is over and we are renting the facility and Sarah will be in charge of our programming while we are being cared for by a few staff– think of it as a longer version of the fall retreat.

We will engage, as we always do, in a larger thematic conversation. Taking time to learn, hear stories, have conversations and do some personal reflection.

We will also take advantage of the beautiful setting – hiking in the mountains, playing and resting in the sun, high ropes course options, and evening worship campfires.

This is an opportunity to travel to a new place and encounter our Big God through a unique geography, sacred stories, and new questions. It is an experience in which we will practice up close what it is to live as a community in Christ – practicing prayer, forgiveness, humility, compassion, and joy.

A Blessing

We no longer navigate by the stars,
We read maps

We don’t intuit our health,

We read our watch

We no longer read the seasons,

We scroll.

And by these signals and signs

we locate ourselves,

set our course,

and if we’re not careful,

define our truth.

And so we come again

to living God who sees us.

whose Truth liberates us

who Grace expands us

whose Love claims us

and in whom we ourselves

live, and move, and have our being.
