Good Shepherd Prayer Labyrinth

A labyrinth is an ancient prayer and meditation tool used by different faith traditions.  It is not a maze; there are no dead ends or wrong turns.  It is a way to center yourself while still involving movement in your prayer life.

You are invited to spend time in contemplation and prayer while you walk through the labyrinth.  You walk the path all the way to the center, pause for reflection in the center circle and then turn around and walk the same path out.   Most people find that walking slowly and with intention helps them to put themselves more fully in God's presence.  But there are no rules about how fast or slowly you have to walk in a labyrinth.

You are welcome to walk slowly, quickly, or even skip!  As long as your heart is in it, there are no wrong ways to walk a labyrinth!

The Good Shepherd Prayer Labyrinth is for the whole community.  It is a resource for for Good Shepherd members, non-members, and neighbors of any age group.  You do not need to be a Christian to come and walk our labyrinth.

Some people find that reading a bible verse beforehand or repeating a centering word or prayer can be helpful in maintaining focus while walking the labyrinth.  Others find singing a hymn aloud or silently is meaningful.  You can also simply listen to the sounds of nature or intentionally place yourself in God's presence and notice how God shows up.
