Summer Scripture Challenge Week Two | “Let your light shine”
Continuing the Journey
We’ve arrived at week two of the Summer Scripture Challenge! You’re on this journey with dozens of other members from the Good Shepherd community who have said “yes” to being shaped by God’s word this Summer.
Scripture shapes our imagination as we learn words, stories and images that help us know God and know ourselves and understand the world around us.
Yesterday was the longest day of the year – a day when we got to enjoy the most sunlight in a single day.
This week’s passage talks about a different kind of light.
Read the Passage
Take some time to slowly ready this week’s passage a few times.
What do you notice? What questions do you have?
Talk about this passage with a family member or friend – ask them what they notice or are surprised by in this passage. How will you take it into the week ahead?
15 People do not light a lamp and put it under the bushel basket; rather, they put it on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:15-16
