World Water Day is March 22

Partnering with the work of Team World Vision to bring Clean Water worldwide

Supporting World Water Day

Wednesday, March 22, 2023 is a day marked by the United Nations as World Water Day to bring attention to the great importance and need for water, sanitation, and hygiene. One of every ten people on the planet have no access to clean water. That’s 771 million people who lack basic drinking water access with 122 million people still using surface water as their source. Additionally, the global water crisis disproportionately impacts women and girls, who spend an estimated 200 million hours hauling water every day! On average, they walk 6 kilometers each day to haul 40 pounds of water.

A group of members from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church have said “yes” to running with Team World Vision and helping to solve the global water crisis. If you would like to support the team as we work towards World Vision’s goal of providing clean water to 50 million people by 2030, please click on the link below and select “support us” to donate to our overall team, or select a runner to support by clicking on the roster. Every $50 supports life-changing clean water for one person FOR LIFE!
