An Advent Conversation with Will Willimon

You’re invited to a special in-person and online event featuring one of America’s most influential preachers. Will Willimon will join us via Zoom for a conversation about the often-misunderstood season of Advent. In 2024, Willimon authored “Heaven and Earth: Advent and the Incarnation” and this conversation will feature a discussion about his book along with time for Q&A from the audience. An in-person gathering will be offered in Peterson Hall – kicking off a series of three Tuesday night gatherings throughout Advent looking at the book.

Will Willimon is a preacher and teacher of preachers. He is a United Methodist bishop (retired) and serves as Professor of the Practice of Christian Ministry and the Director of the Doctor of Ministry program at Duke Divinity School. He is former Dean of the Chapel at Duke University and is considered by many as one of America’s best-known and most influential preachers. He has written over 90 books and has sold over a million copies.
