Faith Footprints: I Just Wish I Had Discovered It Sooner

Discovering the Youth Group Experience

I started regularly attending youth group at the start of my Junior year, and I wish I would have gone sooner. I personally have found my faith has progressed the most during this last year compared to any other period of involvement in church. While worship was something I’ve always just “done”, I now feel like each worship and youth group holds more meaning and weight in my life and my faith than I ever thought it would before. Getting to know all of the highschoolers from different schools has also really broadened my connections, and some of my closest friends I’ve met through church. Everyone is super welcoming, and we love having new people join us. Coming from the huge school in Middleton, the community around church is much easier to get involved with, especially compared to the 2400 students I am around every day at school. It is a lot easier to make personal connections with people and I think that’s the best thing about youth group. Along with that, Sarah does a fantastic job planning activities for each week, and even on weeks where there is no planned youth group, many of us will go to worship and go to dinner or to another activity such as bowling afterwards. If you’re considering joining us at youth group, I would strongly encourage you to give it a shot because I believe it will be one of the best decisions you make while in high school.
