A graveside committal for Kay Hocker will take place on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Forest Hill Cemetery (1 Speedway Rd) at 11am. Pastor Sheryl Erickson will be presiding.

Obituary

Kay Frances Hocker, age 84 of Madison, Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Oakwood Village Memory Care surrounded by her family. Kay was born on May 4, 1938 in Colchester, IL to Joseph and Susie (Wayland) Powell. She graduated from Colchester High School and worked at the local IGA store where she met Arland R. Hocker, Jr. They were married on August 26, 1956. Kay earned her real estate license. She enjoyed selling houses, playing bridge and home decor. She was a loving mother to her son, Brad, her two grandchildren, Max and Kelsey, and two great grand puppies, Kaia and Blair. She is survived by one son, Bradley (Patricia) Hocker, of Murrells Inlet, SC, two grandchildren; Max Hocker, of Stevens Point, WI and Kelsey Hocker, of Madison, WI. Also surviving are four brothers; David Powell of Colorado Springs, CO, Gary (Tish) Powell of Colchester, IL, Danny Powell of Colchester, IL, Lyle (Teresa) Powell of Good Hope, IL, one sister, Louella (Phil) Reno of Bushnell, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers; Charles Powell and Bruce Powell; and two sisters; Barbara Schoonover and Beverly Roberts.
