2026 Youth Trip to Colorado – Day 4
August 4 - Day 4
My name is Adam Johnson, and I am going into my senior year. To start off day 4, we had an amazing breakfast where we learned our focus for the day. The focus was, “becoming faithfully.” This focus was meant to show us that we can find ourselves through worshiping and noticing Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Shortly after, our crew was split up into two different groups. One of the groups did the high ropes course in the morning and the other group had a small discussion about belonging. The discussion taught me and many others in my group that it is so easy to change yourself to belong and a lot harder to be who you truly are. As lunch ended, the two groups switched on what they were doing and now it was my group’s turn to go to the high ropes course. Even though I did not participate in the climbing I was still astonished to watch my peers climb like they did. As we moved into our reflection time, I found myself down on a rock in the stream near camp. Many people here find that one hour to be such an impact on how their days go. We also had the honor of celebrating Gabrielle’s birthday. As the day came to a close, we all found ourselves singing and wrapped up in blankets around the fire. The praying with this group is taken with a different approach then usual, instead of putting your hands together like we were all taught to, we hold hands in a time of pray to show that we are all connected through Christ. As the fire died down we found our day in the Rockies has drifted to an end.
