A New Space for Prayer and Reflection: The Labyrinth at Our Verona Campus

We’re excited to share that a beautiful new feature is coming to our Verona Campus—a prayer labyrinth. Construction is well underway, with the foundation already in place, and we look forward to opening this sacred space soon. While we plan to officially commission the labyrinth on August 10, it may be ready for use even earlier.

What is a Prayer Labyrinth?

A prayer labyrinth is an ancient spiritual tool used for meditation, prayer, and reflection. Unlike a maze, a labyrinth has a single winding path that leads to the center and back out again—there are no tricks, dead ends, or decisions to make. The focus isn’t on finding your way out but rather on finding your way in—into a deeper sense of peace, presence, and connection with God.

Walking a labyrinth is a symbolic journey, often used to quiet the mind, open the heart, and listen for God’s guidance. It’s a spiritual practice used by Christians for centuries, offering a way to pray not just with words, but with your whole body in motion.

Why a Labyrinth at Good Shepherd?

We believe this new labyrinth will be a meaningful addition, creating an open invitation for anyone—members of our congregation, neighbors, and friends in the community—to pause, breathe, and pray. Whether you’re celebrating, grieving, seeking direction, or simply needing a moment of quiet, the labyrinth will be here as a space for all.

Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the official commissioning. We hope you’ll join us for that celebration—and even sooner, if the path is ready to walk before August 10.

Come walk. Come pray. Come experience God’s peace in a new way.
