Godspeed to Eileen Porter

Godspeed, Eileen & Dale

Join us in giving thanks to Eileen Porter, who has contributed so much to Good Shepherd over the past few years through her service of music to the church and to God.

On Sunday, July 7, we will wish Eileen Porter and her husband, Dale Veerhusen, Godspeed as they move from Madison to Hutchinson, Kansas: which is “home” for Eileen. As a faithful member of Good Shepherd, Eileen began as Carol Choir Director at our Madison Campus in October 2013. In this role, Eileen helped shape so many little choristers’ love for music. In addition to Carol Choir, Eileen also served in leadership roles as Music Leader for Church School and Coordinator of Children’s Music (2014-2016). She also has served as a substitute pianist for worship services and choir rehearsals, a choir member and facilitator of The Shepherd’s Staff a cappella quartet, and volunteered on the ORE Committee, especially Bucks for Books and Weekend Wellness Wrap. Dale has also been an active member at Good Shepherd, particularly in our Hospitality ministries.

“I am truly grateful! Whatever I have done to serve was possible only because of the help and dedication of Good Shepherd’s amazing musicians and the dedicated parents of our dear choristers!” –Eileen Porter

As you start the next chapter in your life together in Kansas, remember: “…be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power” (Ephesians 6:10), and may God’s blessings and grace be with you all the while and in the dreams that lie ahead. Thank you for all you have done. We are blessed because of you. God be with you till we meet again!
