Shoebox Gifts for Kids

Help brighten a child’s Christmas through donations to Shoebox gifts.  Good Shepherd has been a key contributor to Shoebox Gifts for Kids sponsored by New Beginnings Alliance Church and distributed to children of needy families through various neighborhood community centers in the Madison area.

Shoeboxes and Gifts Needed

You can participate in a variety of ways.  Fill a shoebox(s) with items of necessity for a child (birth through 16) or single parent.  Suggested items include hats, mittens, socks, diapers, infant necessities, leggings, underwear, pajamas, slippers, school supplies, books, combs, hair brushes, shampoo, dental ad body care supplies and small devotional items.  Please Note: Items need to be NEW.  Wrap the shoebox and place a tag identifying gender and age range or size of intended recipient.  If you prefer, you can donate individual items which our team will pack and wrap. Beginning November 4, donation bins will be at each campus to accept your donations including wrapped or unwrapped shoeboxes and empty large shoeboxes.

Help with Packing Gifts

There will be a takeaway list of suggested items at each donation center to refer to as you shop.   If you would like to participate in packing boxes with our team look for dates and times to be announced in the near future.  The deadline for donating individual items, empty shoeboxes or unwrapped shoeboxes is December 9.  Wrapped shoeboxes will be accepted through December 16.  Contact Nancy Rasmussen, erinan@chorus.net, with questions.  Thanks for your generosity.
