Jesus is building a church, and it is not a building. It is a people refreshed at fonts and fed at tables, flung wide open in welcome, practicing forgiveness, and showing up in the hardest moments of life with a word of hope. In this week’s sermon, we reflect on Peter’s bold confession that Jesus is the Christ and what it means for us to be formed and sent as God’s recognizable presence in the world. Whether gathered in a historic sanctuary, a pine log chapel in the woods, a hospital room, or anywhere two or three are gathered in Christ’s name, we are the church Jesus is building.
