2026 Youth Trip to Colorado – Day 1

My name is Marah Vogt and I will be a senior in high school this coming school year. I have been looking forward to this trip all year and I loved getting on the road this morning! We drove about 7 hours on the bus today with a stop for lunch near Des Moines, Iowa around noon. Eating pizza at Bethany Park was truly the moment when people started feeling that we’re free from at-home stressors and we could just feel God’s work inside us. After dinner, we were introduced to each of our wonderful chaperones, and we learned we need to “check our reverence” throughout the coming week. Devotion afterwards in the hotel only added to that growing feeling of being at peace within us. We each received a rock as we sang Sanctuary and Doxology and we mentally wrote a stressor on that rock. Our hope is that we will be able to leave that rock and stressor behind in Colorado. After devotion we had free time! Whether we were in the pool, making bracelets, playing cards, or decompressing in our rooms, we were all feeling the community we brought from Wisconsin. I’m looking forward to a great week!
